Nikki’s baptism day…

Posted by stephyc under: Uncategorized .

Wow, what an exciting day!  Our oldest daughter was baptized today!  Nikki is so sweet and innocent.  Her day went pretty good.  The missionaries arrived at a time to make sure things were setup for today and the font wasn’t filled up.  Lucky for us all they filled it up and saved the day.  We met in the chapel for the first part.  President Prince of the stake presidency conducted the baptismal service.  We sang “I am a Child of God” for the opening prayer.  Nikki’s Papa was asked to give the opening prayer.  Then Brother Lindsay spoke on Baptism.

Nikki got to be first to be baptized.  Her Daddy, took her into the waters of baptism and baptized her.  He did a wonderful job!  I met Nikki with her towel and we went to get dried off and changed.  Auntie Em came in to take pictures. Grammy also came in to help get her hair dried.  When we finished drying her hair we went into the multipurpose room to have Nikki confirmed.

Brother Backus conducted at Nikki’s confirmation.  Nikki asked that Auntie Em give the talk on the Holy Ghost.  I guess Auntie Em thought that the stake had it covered when they took care of the talk on baptism.  She was surprised when Brother Backus asked her to talk.  Nikki’s Daddy confirmed her a member of the Church of Jesus Christ of Latter-day Saints.

Nikki asked that her Papa, Uncle Eric, Uncle Kevin, Uncle Brady, Brother Gordon, and Brother Backus were in the circle.  Nikki was so happy to have all her family with her on this special day!

Uncle Eric’s family bought a really pretty CTR bracelet for Nikki.  Thank you for the beautiful bracelet!

We are so lucky to have both sides of the family here to celebrate with us.  Jason’s Mom and Brother came out from Arkansas.  My Mom and Dad came out from California.  We really missed all the family members that were not able to make it, but so lucky to have all the others here.

I am so glad that we could support our daughter in her decision to be baptized.

Nikki: I want you to know how much I love you!  I am very proud of you!  I hope that you will always know that I have a testimony that God is our Father.  That Jesus is our Savior and he gave his life for us.  I have a testimony that if we live righteously we can have the Holy Ghost to guide us.  I know that we can return to be with our Father again if we will follow the example that our Savior set for us.  Today you were asked to remember to pray always…I hope you will follow that advice and be close to your Heavenly Father.  I know that you have a testimony and I pray that you will share that testimony with others often!  I am so happy to be your Mother!  I love your sweet spirit!  I leave you my testimony….
