Easter in the Red Rocks of Sedona…

We had Easter in Sedona last year and really enjoyed a quiet relaxing Easter! We decided on the way home a year ago to do it again this year! On Sunday, April 12, 2009 we held our 2nd Annual Easter Egg Hunt at Red Rock Crossing in Sedona, Arizona. We plan to do it again next year for all of you who want to join us. We absolutely love the scenery, the quiet, the slow pace, and spending the time with family! We brought in all our food and what we forgot was forgotten about. We had a BBQ with pork loin, hamburgers, hot dogs, and brats. We also had potato salad (homemade of course!), chips, drinks, toppings galore, and BROWNIES!!!
After a delicious lunch we had a visit from the Easter Bunny! The kids love how that little Bunny is so sneaky. Jaylee got to go hunt eggs first. She had a ball hunting eggs and even wanted one of the other kids to get an egg or two for them (it was in a hard place for her to reach.) I’m not sure if Jaylee was doing more hunting or opening of the eggs….

Adam, Brian, Elizabeth, and Nikki had to wait a few minutes to start hunting eggs. While they were waiting they were scoping out where they wanted to search for eggs.
Adam had a ball hunting eggs. I think that Adam’s favorite thing is hunting things. I will not be surprized if he becomes a Hunter!

Elizabeth is my I want it all girl. She loves to win! If we had let her she would have picked up every egg there and then some! She loves to be the first to find things. She is very competative!

Brian had a rough go this time. He fell down twice and lost his eggs twice. His worst fall was off a tree that had fallen and there were eggs hidden on the tree. He climbed up to get the eggs and fell off. Uncle Jason had to help him up and put his eggs back in his basket. He looked so handsome in his new shirt that his glasses matched and I really love the upturned collar!

Nikki is a clever girl. She will find a way to get what she is looking for. We always do a special egg that gets you a special prize. She was determined to find the special egg this year so she could give it to Jaylee!
She found the egg and snuck it into Jaylee’s basket before any of the other kids had time to think about the special egg.

I have more Easter pictures to share, but I have to download them off my camera. More to come….
