My birthday…

Posted by stephyc under: Uncategorized .

On 5 May 2009 was my birthday.  My honey went all out.  He took the girls shopping for gifts.  They insisted that I open my presents before I went to work.  I was surprised to find that my first gift was a Butterfly Necklace and matching Bracelet.  Elizabeth had picked out this beautiful set before she decided to get her ears pierced.

Next I opened the present from Nikki.  She found a beautiful teal bracelet.  I love the color!!!  She picked something I never would have picked for myself, but as usual she did a great job!

I had to work on my birthday.  It was nice to get to work and see this nice sign in our office.  Thanks Lisa!  At work I got a package delivered.  My honey sent me flowers for my birthday.  I showed the flowers off to the class.  They were surprised to see flowers come in a box!

When I got home from work Jason had a card for me.  Inside of the card was a gift card to get anything I wanted for my birthday.  Then he told me that a friend was going to watch the girls so we could go out for dinner.  He had planned the whole evening. We dropped the girls off at our friend’s house and headed to the restaurant.

Jason had made reservations at Manzanita Inn in Cornville.  It was a nice drive over there and Jason wouldn’t tell me where we were going.  He wanted to surprise me.  It was a nice surprise.  We had a nice semi-quiet dinner.  I say semi-quiet, because there was a couple behind Jason that were having an argument.  Well, it didn’t start that way, but it changed into one.  At first the woman was propositioning the man for some fun for later.  Then they were discussing setting up friends.  Next thing I knew she was yelling at him.  I guess he had compared her to his ex-wife from 28 years previous.  Anyway she started telling him off.  I think the funniest part was that the waiters and waitresses were totally oblivious to the fact that they were arguing.

At one point she walked away and I thought she had left without him.  She was gone for about five minutes.  When she came back she called him a name and then told him to shut up.  She told him she couldn’t believe that he brings up his ex-wife 3-4 times a year.  She then said it would be like her comparing him to her ex-boyfriend from 25 years ago.  They continued to argue through the remained of their meal.  She told him not to take his little blue pill.  She also told him that she was going back to her life when she got back to the valley.

Our dinner was delicious.  We started with an appetizer of Fresh Grilled Portobello Mushrooms Stuffed with
Swiss Gruyere, Spinach & Crab.  I could probably eat this as a meal by myself.  It was wonderful!  I had Broiled Chicken Breast – Stuffed with Crab, Spinach & Artichoke for my dinner.  There was so much food that I couldn’t eat half of it.  For dessert we had a Swiss Chocolate Mousse.  Absolutely wonderful!  If you have an opportunity to eat at the Manzanita Inn in Cornville, Arizona take the chance.

I joke that Jason gave me dinner and a show!  I even got to blow out the candle….
