Happy “Early” Father’s Day 2009 Daddy!!!

A week or so ago my dear sister Emily asked if we could get together to do something fun for our hubby’s for Father’s Day. Of course these were going to be from the girls. So this morning the girls and I left for Auntie Em’s house to do a project! We left Jason at home so he could do some work and drove over the mountain. We met Emily and then went to get the things we needed for this project. We first went to The Dollar Tree, next was Wal-Mart, and since we were starving after that we got some lunch!
When we got back to Em’s house we organized the items we had purchased and tried to figure out the best way to do this project. Em started making the cookie dough and I got things sorted on the table. We traced the girls hands and then cut them out. Then we took the cut out hands and traced them onto the cookie dough. Then we shaped the hands into the “I Love You” sign! Em cooked the cookies and finally we pulled them out and put the sticks into the cookies to put them into the jar.
I didn’t take pictures of this, but my sis did! Nikki is very creative and she came up with a few really good ideas. Lizzi is very independent and did most of her project herself. Lizzi loves tape!!! Nikki got all the fruit candy and put it in the jar and then added some chocolates on a stick. Nikki came up with a way to use the lid from the jar as part of her Father’s Day surprise! Lizzi of course got the chocolate candies and put them in her jar. Lizzi also added some chocolates on a stick and in her own way decorated the jar….with lots of tape!!! They both did a wonderful job making goodies for Daddy!

The Nikki version has lots of color and a little flare!

The Lizzi version is covered and I mean covered with candy! I know this will shock most of you, but Lizzi loves chocolate!
So long story short we finished the Goodie Projects and headed home. I had told the girls that I would tell Daddy to sit on the couch and cover his eyes so we could bring in his surprise. Well I didn’t call him and tell him and when I was getting ready to take them out of the car I see Jason walking out of the house. I told him to stop and go back inside and cover his eyes. Nikki shooed him back into the house. I got the girls their projects and I headed in the house first to make sure “Daddy” was ready to be surprised, second to get my camera out, and finally to snap a picture of Jason waiting to be surprised!!!

Waiting on the couch for the girls to get ready. He didn’t know I was going to take this picture…hehehe!

This is what Jason saw when he opened his eyes! The girls are ready to give him the Goodies!
Jason wasn’t sure if he wanted the surprise so he sat with his hands over his eyes a little bit longer and we started to help him take his hands down.

I love this picture! I don’t think he knew what to expect, but I think he was pleasantly surprised to see Goodie Jars! Thanks for the idea Em!!!!

The girls brought the Goodie Jars up close so Jason could have a better look at them!

Jason wanted the Goodie Jars to get a special place in our home so anyone who enters can see them! I wonder how long they will look this good???
I just want to take a moment and tell my hubby how much I Love Him! I love that you get excited over the “projects” that we make for you! I know this has been a busy week and thank you for being so understanding!!! I hope you have a wonderful Father’s Day! Thank you for not only being a Father to our girls, but more importantly for being their Dad!!!! I Love You!!!
