Laughlin, Nevada Trip (Days 1 & 2) June 2009

On Sunday, June 28, 2009 we traveled to Laughlin for a mini-vacation before the girls and I leave to Wisconsin for the month.  When we arrived at the hotel Jason dropped the girls and I off while he went to check us in.  While we were waiting the girls were getting silly and decided to lay backward on the bench.

We were hot and tired when we got to Laughlin.  So Jason and the girls flopped on the bed.  I took these pictures then…

Nikki then decided to jump on the bed with her Daddy.  She loves to be near her Daddy…

I love these hotel rooms.  The beds are comfy and the views are nice.  We stayed at the Tropicana Express.  This is one of the resort rooms.  So worth the $20!!!!

One of the first things the girls wanted to do was go swimming.  Sorry, no pictures for this…

We went swimming until they kicked us out at 9pm.  The girls love swimming.

On Monday, June 29, 2009 We made the trip from Laughlin, Nevada to Oatman, Arizona.  Lucky for us it’s only about an hour drive.  We were excited to see that the wild burro’s were still running free in the streets of Oatman.  The girls thought this was so exciting.

The burro’s walk right in and out of the businesses there.  The girls quickly learned that the burro’s associate people (especially kids) with food.  They sell carrots and alfalpha cubes to the tourists there.  So the burro’s know that everyone has food.  The burro’s were following the girls around looking for food.

We saw approximately 30 wild burros while we were in Oatman.  The most exciting thing for the girls was seeing the baby burros.  There were 4 or 5 baby burros.  The girls loved petting the baby burros.  I think their favorite was the one that was only a few weeks old.  Wild burro mommy and baby Oatman 2009

We also bought the girls some hand held fans while we were there.  It was fun to see how the town was four years after the first time I went there.

By the time we got back to Laughlin my parents with Brian and Adam were already in Laughlin.  Emily and Brady were about an hour or two away still.  We got some snacks to tide us over so we could all eat together.

While we were waiting for Emily, Brady, and Jaylee to arrive we went swimming.  Once again…sorry no pictures!  When we got Emily’s family settled in we went to dinner.  We had the buffet at Tropicana Express.  The kids loved eating together.
