Moving Day Aug. 2009

Moving day was Saturday, August 29, 2009….

At 6 am Jason and I were ready to start moving boxes. We loaded up the neon and headed to the new house.

Jason and I unloaded the car. Then we prepared for a busy day. I headed to Fry’s to pick up donuts for our helpers.
Because I wasn’t thinking I didn’t take any pictures of our helpers or the yummy food. We had so much help that things were moved in less than two hours. We are so lucky to have a wonderful Ward Family that gave up time on their Saturday morning to help us!

We also had help from some of our family. Kevin and the boys came over and so did Emily, Brady, and Jaylee! We are so, so, so lucky to have family so close to us and willing to help us.
Nikki, Lizzi, Jaylee, Brian, and Adam had fun playing in the backyard most of the day.
After everything was moved we took a little time to relax. Kevin fell asleep on the floor in the family room.

We then had BBQ hamburgers and hot dogs plus a delicious potato salad made by Auntie M. Then Auntie M decided we needed to paint. First the pantry….

Before Paint...
As you can see the pantry was in need of some paint. With Auntie M’s help it changed from dingy to delightful!

Auntie M took the time to paint the pantry to make it beautiful and now it almost matches the other rooms. I have never had rooms with color on the walls so this is a nice change!

The finished (almost) pantry
When Auntie M was finished with the pantry she decided that since the girls had drawn on their dressers they needed to paint them. So the paint party began with all of the girls and some of the boys helping.

They had to remove stickers and then sandpaper the dressers. Lizzi and Adam were working hard on these drawers.

Nikki was ready with her dresser first so she started painting first. She worked hard to finish her dresser. She told me later, “I love painting…Can I do more?” I love this sweet girl.

Lizzi took a lot longer to finish, but she loved painting her dresser also.

I’m not sure who loves their finished dresser more, but I know they both had a ball painting and decorating their dressers.

We set up beds and got a few things ready so we could have a good night.

I was able to get one picture of someone who helped us move. Thanks Mike for remembering our boxes in the back of your truck…
